Directions to Program Individual Phones 

This procedure describes how to use and program different features on the Mitel 5224 IP Phone. 


Directions to Program individual phones for call Logging

Perquisites:

This option is only available on the  Mitel 5224 IP Phone at the moment.

Must have one available personal key to program for call logging

Must program personal key before enabling call logging


Programming Personal Key for Call Logging

Push Super Key  

Press the NO Soft key until Personal Keys appears

Press Yes when you reach Personal Keys

The display will ask you to select a personal key. 

Push the button next to your own name. 

Select Change

Press No until you reach Callers

Press Yes on Callers Key

Key is saved.

You have now programed your Callers Key. 

Key is saved.

Press Super Key to exit


Turning on Call Logging

Press Super Key 

Press No softkey until Call Logging appears

Press Yes softkey.

Press Missed softkey to log missed calls only, or the All softkey to log all calls

Press EXTL softkey to only log outside calls.


To Display Call Log

Press the button that correlates to your name.

Press the New softkey to display details about newly logged calls only, or the Old softkey to display details for previously logged calls.

 

To return a call in the call log:

Display the call you want to return.

Dial 9 and then press the Call softkey

If the call is long distance, dial 91 and then press the Call softkey. You can dial up to three digits before pressing call.


Program Call Forwarding

Call forward allows you to redirect incoming calls to an alternate number.” External calls?” redirects your incoming external calls only; “Internal Calls?” redirects your internal calls only; If you want to redirect both external and internal calls, you must program each separately. 

“Always redirects all incoming calls regardless of the state of your telephone. ”No Ans” redirects after several rings if you don’t answer. “If Busy” redirects calls if your telephone is busy. “Busy/No Ans?” redirects calls if your phone line is busy or when you don’t answer.

To Program Call Forward (Internal Extensions):

Press the Super Key 

Press the No softkey until  “Call Forwarding” appears

Press the Yes softkey

Press the Next softkey until Always softkey appears.

Press the Change softkey

Press the Program softkey. Enter the phone number you want your phone calls forwarded to .

Press the Save softkey

Press the Super Key  to exit


To Program Call Forward ( External Phone Number):


To Program call forwarding to an external phone number you must first program a personal speed dial key. Program speed dial to your personal keys using your personal extension number.

Please refer to instructions on programing a speed dial key before proceeding to the instructions to program call forwarding to an external phone number.


Lift the handset

Dial *511

Enter 9 and then the external phone number as you would dial it from your desk phone

Hang up

A personal speed dial of your external phone number is now programed  in the system as *521

Press the Super Key



The display shows Call Forwarding 

Press the Yes softkey

The displau shows Always

Press the Program (this may say Change if you have a number programmed already)

Dial the speed dial you programmed earlier (*521)

Press the Save softkey

Press the Cancel softkey twice (this returns the phone to its normal state)

Call forwarding is now programmed. You can toggle it on and off  using the Call Forward On/Off button.


Turn On Call Forwarding:

Press the Super Key 

Press the No softkey until Call Forwarding appears

Press the Yes softkey

Press the Next softkey until the type of Call Forwarding appears

Press the Review softkey

Press the Change softkey

To turn on Call Forward, press the TurnOn softkey.


Changing your Voicemail Greeting:

Press your Voicemail Key. Your phone will dial into your voicemail.



Enter your voicemail passcode (this will be your extension number)

Press U for user options

Press G to  set your user greeting

Press R to record your greeting. Begin Speaking when prompted. 


Press when you have finished speaking. This ensures your greeting is not extended due to background noise. 

Press Exit softkey  to exit and save your greeting 



Recording your name for your Voicemail Greeting:

Press Voicemail Key

Enter your passcode

Press U for user options

Press N to record your name

Record your name when you are prompted

Press Exit softkey to exit this feature


Placing a call on Hold: 


Press the red  Hold Key


To retrieve a call from being on hold:


Lift the handset and press the flashing line key


To retrieve a call from hold from another phone, do one of the following:


Press the flashing line key or

Press**1 and the dial the extension


Call Park

The Call Park feature allows you to place a call in a special hold state. You or someone else can retrieve the call from any extension in the phone system.

To Park an active call:

Press the Call Park feature key.

Dial the extension the parked call is intended for. 

Announce the individual that is on parked call.

Hang up the phone. 


To retrieve a parked call:

Press the parked call feature key

To form a conference when a two-party call is already in place, or to add another party to an existing conference   :

Press the    (Trans/Conf.) button

Dial the number of the next party

Wait for an answer


Press the    (Trans/Conf.) button

Glossary:

Super key: Provides access to menus for your phone’s additional features

Softkey: Keys that can be programmed for speed call keys, feature key, or line appearance keys ( call forward, do not disturb, voicemail transfer)

Hold Key: Places calls on hold.
